PH levels (Potential Hydrogen) refers to the acidity level of substances. Your skin tends to have a

naturally acidic pH depending on the areas of your body. Factors like the environment and your skin care routine can affect the pH level of your skin.

So what does acidity have to do with your skin?

The pH scale runs from 1 to 14, with 7 considered Numbers below 7 are acidic, while numbers above 7 are considered alkaline or non-acidic. The PH level in the skin of our body is more alkaline than that of the skin of our face. The skin on ourface is 10 times thinner than the skin on our body. The skin around the eyes is 5 times thinner than the skin on our face.

For example, handmade soaps are always alkaline (cleaning ability) with a safe pH range between 7 and 8 to use on the skin. Anything above pH 11 is too harsh on the skin and will cause irritation. According to this, we make sure that the PH of our handmade soaps is between 7 to 7.75 In the case of facial skin care products, the pH level cannot be higher than 4.5-7.

You may be surprised to learn that a healthy skin pH is more acidic. With more acidity, your skin can fight harmful microbes and damaging free radicals that could speed up the aging process.

Skin care experts said:

- More acidic cleansers can help fight acne, which can clear up once pH levels drop below 6. -

More acid-based skin care ingredients can also keep skin healthy in conditions like eczema. and psoriasis.

- More alkaline facial cleansers can make your skin more prone to irritation.

Scalp is not an exception, it has a PH level of 5.5, while the natural pH of hair shaft is 3.67. Optimal pH levels is important for healthy and luscious strands.

- In case of facial exfoliants, to achieve a middle ground, for example using an AHA or BHA scrub, due to the natural concentration of the PH level of those ingredients, you should look for a product with a PH level below 4. Our Facial Scrub, AHA Fruit/Avocado Powder/Activated Charcoal, has a PH level of 3.8 to 4.
